COVID has taken away so much from everyone this year, and COVID has affected the quality of life for the people with disabilities that Christian Opportunity Center supports. To keep the people we support safe and healthy, COC has put many extra precautions in place, such as limiting visitors and discontinuing community outings.

When asked what the people supported by COC miss the most, the connection to others outside of COC and fun activities in their communities was mentioned most often. They miss the joy of connecting with others, talking with friends or co-workers, and connecting to their community. They miss the fun of going on community outings in the towns they live and love. As we head into the winter months, COC Staff understands that the opportunities to find fun may be limited even more.

We would like your help to give back a piece of FUN and CONNECTION for the people we support. Please consider becoming a virtual volunteer or sponsoring a FUN package this winter.

$100—Life Skills Canvas Painting Activity Package

A favorite activity of the Life Skills program is creating art. This package will help 20+ individuals who attend Life Skills to participate in a canvas painting activity.

$50—Housemate Party Package

Give the gift of a house party this winter. Staff and Person Supported can choose a theme for the night and plan out their evening. It could be a Fiesta Night, Dance Party, or a movie screening!

$25—Game Night Package

Help a Person Supported select a new board game to play with their housemates and staff in the home.

$15—Crafting Package

Give new craft supplies to help a Person Supported to continue a project for a loved one or discover a new hobby.

Virtual Volunteering

Become a pen pal to a Person Supported. COC is seeking virtual volunteers who would be willing to become a pen pal to the people we support. You can choose to communicate with your pen pal through email or send a letter in the mail. COC will match you with a Person Supported that you can connect and communicate with this winter.
