House J – HOME CHARACTERISTICS: The house is a ranch-style 4-bedroom home in Johnston. This home has a handicap-accessible entrance, and the room available is also accessible with its own accessible bathroom. It currently has 3 female roommates, ages 27-37. This is a 24-hour home with staff available for the roommates. Rent at the home is 30% of the renter’s income per month. Utilities, cable, yard maintenance & other living expenses are split among the housemates. The house is owned by Christian Opportunity Center.
LOOKING FOR: A female with an easy-going personality on the ID waiver would be an ideal housemate. The housemates are looking for someone who enjoys going out to eat and doing activities in the community. Attending church activities is an important part of the roommate’s weekly activities. They attend weekly church bible study on Thursday evening and church on Sunday.

House M – HOME CHARACTERISTICS: The home is a one story, 4-bedroom home on the north end and of Oskaloosa. There are currently 3 females residing in the home, ages 27 – 33. The housemates have one staff who is available 24 hours. Staff on duty do sleep during overnight hours. COC owns this home, and rent is 30% of the individuals’ monthly income. Utilities and groceries are divided by 5, between 4 housemates and COC. Cable, yard maintenance, and other personal expenses are split 4 ways amongst the housemates.
LOOKING FOR: The housemates are looking for someone with an easy-going personality, who would enjoy going out to eat, crafting, and going along on outings happening in the community. A desirable characteristic is someone without any serious behavioral issues.

House K – HOME CHARACTERISTICS: The house is a ranch-style 4-bedroom home in a quiet northwest neighborhood of Indianola. This older home has two levels, the basement was refinished in 2020, there are 2 walk-in showers and an awesome deck to set on to bird watch or to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. It currently has 3 female roommates, ages 30-50. This is a 24-hour waiver home, staffed 24/7. Rent is 30% of renter’s monthly income. Utilities, cable, yard maintenance & other living expenses are split 4 ways among the housemates. The house is owned by Christian Opportunity Center.
LOOKING FOR: A woman with an easy-going personality on the ID waiver would be an ideal housemate. The housemates are looking for someone who enjoys listening to country music, participating in Special Olympics, going to dances, watching movies and going for rides around the nearby lake. Other common interests include crafts, puzzles, cooking and having fun going to an array of community happenings.
