Des Moines 

House J – HOME CHARACTERISTICS:  The house is a ranch-style 4-bedroom home in Johnston. This home has a handicap-accessible entrance, and the room available is also accessible with its own accessible bathroom.  It currently has 3 female roommates, ages 27-37.  This is a 24-hour home with staff available for the roommates. Rent at the home is 30% of the renter’s income per month. Utilities, cable, yard maintenance & other living expenses are split among the housemates.  The house is owned by Christian Opportunity Center.

LOOKING FOR: A female with an easy-going personality on the ID waiver would be an ideal housemate.  The housemates are looking for someone who enjoys going out to eat and doing activities in the community. Attending church activities is an important part of the roommate’s weekly activities. They attend weekly church bible study on Thursday evening and church on Sunday.

Pella

House N – HOME CHARACTERISTICS: The house is a two-level 4-bedroom home on the Northside of town, just past the city limits. The pending opening is located on the main level. The individual will have 3 female roommates, ages 29-58. The housemates have one staff who is available 24 hours. Staff are asleep during overnight hours. COC owns this home and rent is 30% of the monthly income. Utilities and groceries are divided by 5 between the 4 housemates and COC. Cable, yard maintenance & other personal expenses are split 4 ways among the housemates.

 

LOOKING FOR: The housemates are looking for someone with an easy-going personality.  A desirable characteristic is an individual without any serious behavioral issues. Common interests include crafting, playing board games, shopping, eating out, watching Hallmark movies and old television programs, and quiet nights at home.

Oskaloosa

House M – HOME CHARACTERISTICS: The home is a one story, 4-bedroom home on the north end and of Oskaloosa. There are currently 3 females residing in the home, ages 27 – 33. The housemates have one staff who is available 24 hours. Staff on duty do sleep during overnight hours. COC owns this home, and rent is 30% of the individuals’ monthly income. Utilities and groceries are divided by 5, between 4 housemates and COC. Cable, yard maintenance, and other personal expenses are split 4 ways amongst the housemates.

LOOKING FOR:  The housemates are looking for someone with an easy-going personality, who would enjoy going out to eat, crafting, and going along on outings happening in the community. A desirable characteristic is someone without any serious behavioral issues.

House S – HOME CHARACTERISTICS: The home is a 2 story, 4-bedroom home a few blocks away from the town square. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, and two bedrooms downstairs. The current room opening is downstairs, where another housemates’ room is, along with the ‘staff bedroom’. The individual will have 3 housemates, all males, ages 22-33. The housemates have one staff who is available 24 hours. Staff on duty do sleep during overnight hours. COC owns this home, and rent is 30% of the individuals’ monthly income. Utilities and groceries are divided by 5, between 4 housemates and COC. Cable, yard maintenance, and other personal expenses are split 4 ways amongst the housemates.

LOOKING FOR: The current housemates are looking for someone with an easy-going personality. Common interests include gaming, going on outings happening in the community, going out to eat, and quiet nights at home. A desirable characteristic is someone without any serious behavioral issues.
