Services

Christian Opportunity Center (COC) provides services to more than 200 people with disabilities in four regions of southern Iowa.

COC offers a full range of services for working and living in Des Moines, Indianola, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, and Pella. Work skills training includes the Community-Based Employment (CBE) program and small group employment. Training in living skills includes Supported Community Living (SCL) homes with 24-hour staff support.

We value the individual by supporting the whole person:

  • Physically, by offering services that can be adapted based on health and safety needs at work and home.
  • Emotionally, by establishing and maintaining connections within the community and celebrating milestones (big and small) in the lives of the people we support.
  • Intellectually, by helping individuals achieve goals and learn and understand life and social skills.
  • Spiritually, by helping the people we support grow in their spiritual journey if they desire to do so.

Through Christian Opportunity Center’s (COC) Spiritual Services program, COC works with people with disabilities to help them experience the joy of knowing that they are of value to God. COC’s staff members regularly demonstrate Christian values through daily interactions with the people supported.
